Recently I have been following a trend on TikTok. The trend happens to be something that rolls right up my alley; Whipped Coffee. At first, I was watching the videos and thought, “wow this looks like something that is really good and ends up with the side effects of a bellyache.” After watching several videos and reading a couple of articles, I thought I would give it a try. Let us hop on the bandwagon and get started.
- Instant Coffee
- Granulated Sugar
To begin, I went to the store to grab the few ingredients that I did not have prior to the attempt. Interested and intrigued, I picked up some classic caramel flavoring to jazz the coffee up.
The first step in making whipped coffee is to grab a bowl. I used a small white bowl you would use for cereal, but I would recommend a larger bowl due to the mess it makes. For one serving of whipped coffee, put two tablespoons of instant coffee, two tablespoons of granulated sugar, and about two tablespoons of water.
Once the ingredients are in the bowl, begin stirring the ingredients together. If you are stirring with a spoon, get ready. You should be stirring the mixture for around 20 to 25 minutes. The preferred method, by me, is to use a hand or stand mixer; This will reduce the time of stirring dramatically to around 5 minutes.
Now that you have been stirring for some time, the consistency of the mixture should look and feel like what I would describe to be milky peanut butter. The mixture should look creamy and light.
The hard part is over! Now for the fun and magic. Grab a glass, the closest you can get to 8 oz. will work best. Fill the glass half way with ice. For the version of coffee I am making, I will add the flavoring after the ice. Any sort of flavoring you buy in a liquid form will be strong and powerful. Be sure not to pour too much. I recommend just covering the bottom of the glass and then add to taste once the process is complete. If you are not adding flavor that works too.
Next, grab that moo-cow milk, or almond milk if you are into that. Pour milk over the ice until the glass is half to three quarters filled.

Now, time for what we worked so hard for! Scoop a dollop of that instant coffee mixture we made earlier and plop it into the glass over the milk.
When you have the entire mixture inside the glass, it comes down to the final step, stir that baby. As soon as you are done stirring and everything is distributed evenly, you have your whipped coffee and it is time to drink!
